Veg Burger : -A veg burger is a type of burger that does not contain meat or any other animal product because it is made with vegetable and this is Veg Burger. It consists of a patty, and patty make from many vegetables and it is served on a bun with various toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, cabbage, cheese slice, onion, pickles, and many sauces like ketchup, mustard, and mayo. Veg burgers are a very popular in every age people and alternative to traditional meat burgers and are often consumed by vegetarians people

So hey guys you are most welcome on my new blog so today I am making crispy veg burger,and I will tell you how to make a perfect homemade veg burger patty which is really crunchy and crispy and also very delicious, and is very easy to make this recipe as well, and lastly we will assemble the veg burger in the classic style, in this sesame bun  with mayonnaise than some lettuce and on top of it our homemade crispy veggie patty, and the burger turns out to be really delicious and believe me this Veggie burger taste much better than the ones bought from the market,

And it is very simple recipe

Prep time: 20-25 minutes Cooking time: 30-35 minutes Serves: 8 crispy veggie patties

#1 Veggie patty mixture Ingredients:

  • Poha (rice flakes) 1/2rd cup
  •  Oil 2 tsp
  •  Butter 1.5tbsp
  •  Pyaaz (onions) ½ medium sized (chopped)
  •  Garlic 1 tbsp (chopped)
  •  Farsi (french beans) 1/3rd cup (chopped)
  •  Gajar (carrots) 1/3rd cup (chopped)
  •  Hare matar (green peas) 1/3rd cup (boiled)
  •  Hari mirchi (green chillies) 1-2 nos. (finely chopped)
  •  Powdered spices:
  • 1. Haldi (turmeric) powder ½ tsp
  • 2. Lal mirch (red chilli) powder 1 tsp
  • 3. Aamchur (dry mango) powder 2 tsp
  • 4. Jeera (cumin) powder 1 tsp
  • 5. A pinch of garam masala
  •  Uble hue aloo (boiled potatoes) 5-6 medium sized
  •  Salt to taste
  •  A handful of fresh coriander leaves

#2 How To Make Veg Burger

1. Firstly I am taking a bowl in a bowl adding one third cup poha (rice flakes) to a strainer, now we have to wash it with water and pour some water over it and let it drain off, and then you have to leave the poha to rest for 5 minutes to soak up, you don’t need to dip poha in water to soak just pour some water on them and let it drain out and let them rest in strainer for 5 minutes,

2. Now your poha has rested,  now I am nicely mashing it with my hands to bring it to a mashed potato consistency, Now we will keep it aside for now



3. The addition of shoked and mashed poha, in this recipe act as a binding agent, whenever you make something with a potato potato has a lot of stars so to dry out the potato mixture a binding agent is added,

4. Different think can we used as a winding agent like corn flour or bread crumbs, usually I use poha or rice flakes, the advantage is that the texture does not change and you don’t get a floury taste as you would with corn flour, and it acts as a binding agent as well, and rice flakes are blend by themselves and has no flavour so it doesn’t add up any new flavour in our patty,

5. So it is a perfect binding agent you also use this trick to make your patty will come out nice, And will not break apart while frying or will not be too wet or loose,



6. Secondly if you don’t want to add any binding agent like I don’t sometimes, then the variety of potato becomes really important you have to use less starchy potatoes,

7. In this recipe I have used normal potatoes,

If I don’t want to use binding then I will choose pahadi potato or Indori potatoes they are two three such varieties of potatoes, when you go to the market ask for potatoes use to make french fries or Pahari potatoes they have less starch and water content and if you make patty from this potatoes you will not need to use any binding agent as it is the patty will be quite dry by itself,

9. So you can keep this thing in mind whenever you are making any such recipe with potatoes like tikki French fry etc,

10. S o for our next step we have to make it tempering for the patty then we will add some vegetables to potato to make delicious patty,

#4 So let’s make the filling for the patty,

11. Now we will take a fry Pan and into a pan we will take one table spoon oil, we will add one table spoon butter half chopped onion, one table spoon garlic I am adding,

12. Now you have to saute them on medium high flame, just let the onions get slightly translucent there is no need to cook too much, after two three minutes once your onion are translucent then you have to add vegetable at this stage,

#5 Preparing veggies

13. So here I have taken 1/3rd Cup french beans, 1/3 Cup carrot, 1/3 cup peace that I have boiled before hand and 1-2 chopped green chillies,

14. Now you have to stir this vegetable well, and cook them for 2,3 minutes on high flame, it is very important that your vegetable should stay crunchy and not turn limp,

15. So cook it on high flame for 2,3 minutes, now I have turned the heat down and let’s add some spices hare,

16. Now we will add half teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon red chilli powder, 2 teaspoon dried mango powder, 1 teaspoon cumin powder, and A pinch of garam Masala,

17. Now really quickly stir these spices you should not cook them a lot otherwise they might burn,

18. After stirring you have to add boiled potato to it, here I have already boiled 5,6 medium size potato I am grate them to add in it, so for perfect consistency whenever you are making something like this grate the potatoes,

19. And note that you have to use the large bore of the grater and not the fine one while grating the potatoes, along with that at this stage I am also adding salt according to taste,

20. Now stirring everything and while stirring mashing a bit too, once your entire mixture is well combined and comes together nicely,

21. At this stage I am adding our binding in from of soaked poha, and along with it I am adding freshly chopped coriander leaves, now combine everything together again,

22. Sometimes I find it difficult to combine everything so I used a Potato masher that we use for making pav bhaji, and with that I mash everything lightly don’t mash it completely just with light hands, your filling will be well mix and come together nicely, I have even cooked it well for three four minutes on high flame, at this stage transfer this filling into a bowl,

23. After transferring to a bowl you have to let it cool down for 10 to 15 minutes or until it completely comes down to room temperature, after it cool down cover it I am using a cling film here to cover it you can even use a plate but covering it is very important,

24. After covering it we will have to put this mixture into refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes, keep it in the refrigerator to shape the patties

#7 For making the crispy veggie patty Ingredients

  • • Maida (refined flour) 1 cup
  • • Corn flour ½ cup
  • • Salt to taste
  • • Cold water as required
  • • Oil 1 tbsp
  • • Bread crumbs as required
  • • Veggie patty mixture
  • • Oil for frying

#9 Preparing batter

25. Now we will make a batter for patty, we will take a bowl now we will add all purpose flour corn flour and salt and mix it well after that we will add cold water as required and some oil and wish well to make a semi thick lumps free better for our patty,

26. Now further we will take a wide bowl, and we will add bread crumbs as required to coat the aloo ki tikki, and season the bread crumbs with salt & black pepper according to taste,

27. Now we will take the cooled veggie patty mixture we will take a spoonful of mixture & we will shape it like a ball, and after that further press it shape to make like a aloo ki tikki, it is very important make sure the size of the tikki should be little smaller than your burger buns so remember this.


#10 Breading

28. Now we will dip shaped tikki & coat the shaped tikki in the batter which will make earler & immediately coat it with the seasoned breadcrumbs and shape & coat all the patties in the same way.

#11 Frying patties for burger recipe

29. Now we will take a fry pan and Set oil for frying on medium heat, and deep fry the coated aloo ki tikki in hot oil on medium flame until its would not crisp & golden brown in colour. So friends  your crispy veggie patty is ready.

#12 Assembly: Ingredients

  •  Butter for toasting the burger buns
  •  Burger buns as required
  •  Mayonnaise
  •  Fresh lettuce

30 .Now we will take a fry pan and set a pan on medium heat, now we will add little butter and toast the burger buns facing on the inside until its toasted well and golden brown in colour remember buns should not burn.

#14 Assembling Veggie Burger

31. And Place the top bun first after that we will apply little mayonnaise on the buns and  further we will add the shredded lettuce and  place the crispy veggie patty and now place the bottom bun on the patty turn upside down and your crispy veggie burger is ready.

You can tweak the addition of the ingredients as per your preference. and Consume it quickly to enjoy the crispy veggie burger.
